Who we are

S3 Electronics(“we”, “us”) is an authorized Tata Play distributor operating in Tamil Nadu, India. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described below. You can reach us at hello@s3electronics.com or +91 87608 83884.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to serve your request:

• Contact details — your name, mobile number, an optional alternate number and email address.
• Location details — pin code, city or locality, district and address type, so we can confirm serviceability and route a technician.
• Requirement details — the pack you are interested in, number of TVs, box preference, language preference and your preferred installation date.
• Support details — your Tata Play Subscriber ID or registered mobile number and a description of the fault, when you raise a service request.
• Verification data — a one-time code sent to your mobile number. We store only a hashed form of it, and it is deleted as soon as it is used or expires.

We do not ask for and will never request your Tata Play account password, your bank PIN, your card CVV, or an OTP issued by anyone other than us.

Why we use it

• To confirm whether we can install at your address.
• To contact you about the specific booking, recharge or service request you submitted.
• To schedule and carry out an installation or repair visit.
• To keep a record of the request against its reference number, so you can follow it up.
• To meet our obligations to the operator and under Indian law.

Service communication about a request you made is separate from marketing. We will only send you promotional messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time by replying to any message or calling us.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with Tata Play in order to create and manage your subscription, and with the technician assigned to your visit. We may share information with service providers who help us operate — for example an SMS gateway that delivers your verification code — under instructions that limit them to that purpose. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

How long we keep it

Request records are retained for as long as you are a customer and for the period afterwards required to handle warranty, billing and statutory obligations. Enquiries that do not become connections are retained for a shorter period and then deleted. Verification codes are deleted within minutes.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us to confirm what data we hold about you, to correct anything inaccurate, to erase data we no longer need, and to withdraw a consent you previously gave. You may also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. Write to hello@s3electronics.com and we will respond as promptly as we can.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may raise a grievance with us first, and thereafter with the Data Protection Board of India.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If analytics is enabled, it is used only to understand aggregate traffic to the site — which pages are visited and from where — and never to build a profile of you as an individual.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Verification codes are stored only as hashes, form submissions are rate-limited, and access to request records is limited to the staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the “last reviewed” date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
